RDF is a standard model for data interchange on the Web. RDF has features that facilitate data merging even if the underlying schemas differ, and it specifically supports the evolution of schemas over time without requiring all the data consumers to be changed.

Notes: RDF does not assume that a namespace URI identifies a retrievable Web resource, see RDF primer.

Creators: RDF Working Group

Namespace URI: http://www.w3.org/1999/02/22-rdf-syntax-ns#

with preferred namespace prefix “rdf”.

The namespace URI http://www.w3.org/1999/02/22-rdf-syntax-ns# that is based on the SMW-import-page MediaWiki:Smw import rdf (used, e.g. for RDF export) differs from the namespace URI definitions on Resource Description Framework—please correct one of these.
